Cluck 5"x7" acrylic

Still adjusting to the time change from Hawaii to here. I wonder if a chicken would have the same issue?

I'm baaaack

Morning Chow- 8"x8" acrylic $175.
Its great to be home- two long flights but not bad at all! In LA it was awesome to see the Boston peeps- seeing Red Sox hats made me happy-
Here is one I finished this AM- jet lagged but feeling pretty good- and I have to work this morning!
I love the morning light in the barn in Hawaii. Living on a farm is so sweet, the sounds of munching and clucking with the morning sun streaming in. Peace.

Kalopa state park

I enjoyed a short hike through the park up the mountain (mauka) from the farm. It was wet and lush. These pheasants greeted me as I arrived.

Waipio valley hike

I've never hiked down to this beautiful valley before so this morning I decided to go for it!
you can drive a four wheeler down there but that totally scares me. I'd rather walk.
It's only a mile down but at 25% grade it's steep. I'm so glad I did it- the bottom was magical! Going down was tough on the knees- coming up was a cardio blast- but I loved it. The birds down there are so loud and the greenery is lush and jungle like.these photos are totally out of order -sorry- iPad....

Mystery lab

This sweetie was fun to paint but alas I haven't a clue who's it is....
Looks like humarock to me...wasn't claimed on Facebook so I'm hoping one of my faithful blog flowers will come forward...

Simple sketches

My sister in law Anna gave me a beautiful set of watercolor travel brushes the night before I left to come here and wow- they are great! I can throw them in my bag and they are the perfect size for watercolor sketching. Usually I draw out the composition first, but I started doing these just with the paint and I am loving the spontaneity ! There are a couple of sheep studies here too- done with pencil.

P for Pasquale and b for blue!

I really enjoyed doing this watercolor of Pasquale - I've been doing all the dogs in acrylics so it was fun!
This is Blue- note the two different color eyes!

I am still enjoying Hawaii - another week ! Turtles at Puaka were a highlight- and a dolphin escort after a scuba excursion with my dad. I am so in love with Hawaii!

German shepherd #1

I'm unable to post to many photos from my iPad...so  I'm going to make an album on my Facebook page if you want to see them .
I'm donating 10% of my profits from the dog paintings to Paws New England- where my husbands sisters family adopted their dog sophi last year. I found out today that that my friend Michele clicked on the link I have on my blog and she's pretty sure she will be adopting a puppy from them next month- yay!
