Lucky me

I have been teaching painting at a home in Pembroke - a dad and his two adorable daughters. It's an inspiration that this young dad takes the time to be with his kids and share an activity . His mom is an artist and I can tell its in his blood.the kids are great too. I feel like an art nanny and it's totally a blast- just an hour a week. This old bridge ( my painting below) is on their property.
They also have three beautiful fresian horses- one of them gave birth to a girl last week.
It is so joyful to witness this beauty . I feel so lucky.

California ( part 2)

I am so behind- California was a month ago! Things are busy here.
SO ....after the conference Al and I stopped to see Queen Califas Magic Circle designed by Niki de Saint Phalle . It was closed fr renovation but we could see it pretty well thru the fence.

Next we drove to Palm desert where Al's Aunt Louise  lives- it is another world! She loves her life there- and we loved seeing her- she is the best!
There are lots of fancy shops and galleries right outside her door-

and we took a hike up some hills
                                                   - a tram ride up a mountain in Palm Springs ( yikes!)

After a couple nights there we went to Laguna Beach- lots of surfers and art and great food!

It was a lovely way to end the vacation. We went on a little mosaic tour and visited the Laguna beach museum. I also painted a little in my sketchbook and was given a tour of the tide pools there by a tide pool educator guy. We saw dolphins and seals and lots of birds- no whales though.
It was a total blast! Thanks for reading.
