Fun at Camp Mosaic

Here is my mosaic- un-grouted- on a small scrap of plexiglas.

The campers are in the background doing their own mosaics.

I love the camp - today was "wacky" day- and here are a few of the counselors-in-training in their get-ups- they are the most fun kids!

I am at camp now- enjoying the kids and their energy.

I painted this in my class today- it's copied from another artist- fun to borow sometimes!

We enjoyed eating the food here- the chips and salsa and quacamole were to die for!

I loved getting up early and painting in the quiet of the morning, before all the activity.

My mind is on vacation

Tomorrow I am starting up at my annual gig teaching at Summer Arts at Derby for the month of July- it will be a challenge to get that flower a day in- but I will do it somehow!

I love doing these little multiple sketches-there's no end  to what I can find to draw.
Clockwise from left-random lady in the bar, view from the bar out the front door of the hotel, the massage cabana on the beach ( no I didn't get one) and  one of the many peddlers on the sand.

It's fun to sit in one place and let my eyes wander around. Now that we are back it seems like I dreamed the whole trip. While I was there I thought I was dreaming that I was there.  Life is but a dream!

Back from Cabo

My husband and I took our 2 kids to Cabo San Lucas for a little vacation- since our April London trip was waylaid by the Icelandic volcano, we made up for it by going to Mexico.

Okay, it wasn't exactly England- but it was a rare and special time for just my family to spend some relaxing time together.

I have never been to an all inclusive resort before- it was a real treat. We stayed at the Riu Palace and let me tell you- they know how to do it up right! Great food, flowing drinks, lovely rooms and pools- beautiful beach-just perfect. We felt pampered and returned rested. 5 nights is just enough- any more than that would be too much, like (as my brother Chip put it ) it would be like being locked in a dessert bar! I painted every day,  here's my airport sketch in Houston.

It's wonderful to be home, and back in the USA.

I will remember our vacation forever though, it was wonderful.

another weed

 (Bottom right) might be a buttercup but probably not- but it reminded me-

I loved holding a buttercup under someone's chin to see if they liked butter.
I am going on a little vacation and am not bringing my computer. I really need to unplug.
I will post when I return and you will see that I will be painting! I am just bringing watercolors and a sketchbook- keeping it simple.
