Peonies 8"x8" oil on panel

These are the loveliest things EVER and I was actually a little scared to attempt the painting of this- but I did and , although it to me looks a lot like a dahlia, I actually like this.
Tonight I went to Duxbury beach to celebrate the life of Drew Brian Hunter- we had a fire and we launched beautiful flaming biodegradable lanterns - we lit them and watched them float magically up into the night sky until they disappeared.
I didn't know Drew but I feel blessed to be included in the circle of his loving family and friends. He died a year ago today.

Nice little painting there! And the evening on the beach sounds magical.

I knew these were peonies the moment I saw them before I read the title. They're lovely; especially with the turquoisy background.

I also think the life ceremony sounded beautiful. Peace be in your heart.
