amaryllis 6"x6" acrylic

This bulb was a gift to my husband from Santa and it has bloomed twice this month- each time with 4 blossoms. I love them! I struggled with the colors here- could not get the right red. Time to get more paint! Also the last time I painted one of these it was in oils- a whole different game. But I like it and it was good to do a flower this morning. Its a funny time of year I think-we are in limbo.
This is how Winnie copes.

Just found your blog and love it! Great art and lively, candid comments. The flower today is lovely. Good for you for daily painting. I am inspired!

OK, first, I LOVE Winnie! Second - that reminds me of the Amaryllis painting of yours ON MY WALL RIGHT NOW! :D
And also, when you're getting paint, make sure to get some Pyrrole Red - it's that juicy, candy-apple red. Comes in pretty handy!

I love your amaryllis-really nice background, too. I feel that limbo feeling too--stuck in the middle between winter and spring -restlessness.

Beautiful painting of one of my favorite flowers. Winnie just rocks in the ultimate trusting position :)
