Portland Art Museum

Somehow my friend Mary Sheehan Winn and I managed to get away a week before Christmas to Portland to see the Winslow Homer show "Weatherbeaten " It was great!
(It was pouring the whole time btw- quite fitting)
Great view from the parking garage...
The only Homer I was allowed to take a picture of- love this!
Me in the mirror....
Gertrude Fiske- I adore this!

Sergeant

these fiberglass apples are by a professor I had at the Museum School- Don Moulton.

The show is up only till December 30- so glad I got there!

Looks like you guys had fun! REally, it was a show we should all see... too crammed up right now, and it'll be gone when I'm free. Oh, well, I'm glad you shared! xo

I live so close and still haven't seen this show. Good reminder to get down to see it.

The museum itself is fabulous!
The stairs are granite and very shallow with deep surfaces so that most anyone would be comfortable climbing them and the museum is very open with all floors visible from the different levels.
It was a GREAT day!

We got to see that Weatherbeaten Show last month. Terrific! A real privilege. I also like the Fiske double portrait. I got to your blog because I was researching Fiske. You did way better with the Homer than I did.
