lilacs 8"x10" oil on panel

I woke up this morning and realized- I forgot to post! WOW- I haven't done that in a while-and maybe it is a sign that I need to step away from the blogsphere on occasion.I did paint yesterday and that is my objective- so posting can happen later.
I set up the flowers outside by my fishpond and listened to tunes out my studio while I painted this fragrant bunch of lilacs.
I just cannot get enough of lilacs. It was a perfect day for the first of May!
Yesterday I worked on my Worlds End Tee shirt design- my re-do of the first go.

Here's the scene I am trying to capture...
and here's my first go-

I think it's too busy- I like certain parts, but as a whole its not reading for me-
so heres the beginning of take #2

More to go here-but I think it works better for a tee shirt.
Then I have to add the graphics.

Love the tee shirt design (and lilacs!) I haven't been to World's End since my girls were babes - might be time for a trip back - such a pretty place.

You are simply amazing. I love the lilacs - I just love them, too. When we lived in NH it was the state flower, and they always had a parade - everyone's yard had different varieties, and they'd fasten them to the 'floats' - oh, what an aroma!

Youza lady! That design for the T-shirt is awesome. I like the second one. I want one of those t-shirts! Your lilacs are divine. The first Mothers Day I spent without either one of my kids, David took me to the Arboretum for a picnic. (Lilac Sunday) I got dizzy from that amazing smell! And well, I little chard may have had something to do with it.

Lilacs are gorgeous! I can smell them from here. Ours have past their peak so it's nice to see your lush bouquet.

I love the 2nd T-shirt design, too. You are really industrious.

Such nice drawings (not that I don't love lilacs!)! They remind me of block prints, and when you look at them that way, the first doesn't seem too busy. I think they are both great. Keep drawing! (But you knew I would say that, right?)
