tablescape-work in progress 24 " x 32 " mixed media

I was very inspired by the current exhibit at the Art Complex - Judith Brassard Brown . She gave a gallery talk on friday - it was fantastic. I really related to her approach- she is funny and out of the box.
Her pieces in the show have lots of collage elements in them , and cold wax, so i thought I would try a little of her technique today.
I also have the urge to paint bigger- so this is going to talk me a few days-and I will post it in stages.

This is the primed canvas with the collage elements with black outline(acrylic)
I love to outline-it makes me feel secure.

Here is the first layer of acrylic paint.

Here is the oil paint starting to go on. It's archivally ok to put oil on top of acrylic grounds- but you cannot then put acrylic back on the oil. Well, you can, but its eventually going to fall off!
I ran out of steam- can't wait till tomorrow. I love having a work in progress. AND I get to do yoga and have the whole rest of the day to play and paint!

You are a lucky gal! Inspiration, yoga - and pay for it! I am really liking this piece (what's wrong with outlines, anyway?) and am enjoying the step-by-step. Thanks for sharing it...
