Girls Just Wanna paint for September- paint like a famous person

Of course- I chose Roisin O'Farrell- she is super famous in Ireland- and now USA.
She is a rock star in my book! I did this totally with a palette knife.
She left Monday- I hated to see her go- she is just the most charming, sweet, generous and smart gal. Her Irish wit and bounty of expressions kept us laughing all weekend. I am VERY inspired!
See all the challenge pieces here ( tomorrow it goes live)

Ròisìn o'Farrell workshop

What a wonderful painting workshop  she's giving! We packed the studio with so many people- most local but one from Indianapolis - one from New Jersey and another from Kentucky... And what a great group it is . The best part is watching Ro paint- and her delightful wit . I am so inspired!( and totally exhausted) having her stay with me is a treat- She is so sweet and what an easy helpful guest.
I will miss her greatly.

A night at the Castle (back to France!)

Before the trip to France fades in my memory I'm back to blogging about it.
They have a fundraiser at the castle in Sucy en Brie every spring- we were honored guests- and this time it was a murder mystery night- ( all in french so I couldn't really understand!) The theme was twenties- Below is the group shot of us and our hosts.
Practically the whole town turned out for the event-

                                                            Betty T. really looks sharp!
Elaine and Cedrick ( organizers of the event and adorable)

The sweet Eleanor ( Cedrick's daughter)

The servers were a riot- really in character)

Marie and her  super fun host Florence

Dancing in the castle!

Sunset behind the castle.

Of course- more champagne...

Rósoín O'Farrell at the Art Complex!

This is so exciting- I have followed Rò's blog for a long time (when I started blogging - she was on a few friends blogs as a link) and later through a mutual friend on Facebook, I learned that she had done a house exchange in Duxbury. We have been conspiring for a year and a half to get her to come to the US and teaching and exhibiting- and finally- she's coming this Friday and her work has been shipped to the museum - and it is GORGEOUS!

I'm happy to say her classes are filling (still a bit of room if you are interested)
If you are in the area please come this Sunday to meet her!
We also are opening two other shows that day- and the fairy houses will be on display.
Happy Fall!

New look for the sheep barn

I painted this mural about 5-6 years ago
As you can see it's pretty faded.
I scrubbed and painted the wood and put a new look together for the farm- much more graphic - inspired by tattoos and tapa cloth.
