Bright deer 6"x6" mixed media

Not sure exactly why I painted this image- but I think this describes  how I am feeling this winter. I have never felt so content to be in my studio painting- every morning- very early- looking at the dogs faces, listening to the wind, the owls in the woods, the birds at the feeder. Often I play soft dreamy music. I love the quiet soulfulness of winter. We keep getting storms, and I am very fortunate not to have to commute in them. Being home is right where I need to be. The garden is resting. No outside chores except shoveling. Early evenings snuggled up by the fire ( gas log LOL) makes me happy!
Spring is coming though- the sun is working its way around my house shining into corners ( very dusty ones!) and I feel the wake up is coming. And I will be ready!

I feel the same way about this winter…. the snow, the cocoon the bird life.
It's restorative.
You have many voices and although I do not think your paintings are appreciated as they should be,
