Cove Creek ( rather large) oil on canvas

I have been working on this for  so long- years-yesterday I made myself finish( i think I am done)
This is the view at the end of the dock across the street.
It had a dock in it but it was awkward so I painted it out.

It's pencil but I put it through a filter on photoshop- just for fun.Kinda dark...

The Secret of Life ie Enjoying the Passage of Time - mixed media

I always loved James Taylors song so I borrowed his quote for this one.

Last nights opening was so fun and it was great to see so many of my friends!

The space is fantastic and I felt right at home.

Marie Flaherty , owner of Native- rocks! She know how to throw a party! Sales were brisk and I saw a lot of smiles.

Now I am feeling like doing some other venue for a while.... hmmm- like maybe paint some flowers?

I do want to make more of these mixed media pieces too.

Marie Flaherty, the wonderful owner of Native, and I set up the little show at Native last night- 18 pieces total which i think is pretty good for having just started in January!

We had fun putting the animals and fun artifacts from the store all around my works- I felt like my paintings were at home with all the color around them.

Hope you can come to the show- First fridays in Scituate are fun- several stores are open and serving refreshments.

fun stuff I did over the past few days ...

                            

                                 I attended the Art Fest at Kennedy's garden center.
                       This is the fantastic Mac Haran with her unbelievably adorable
                                     knitted stuff. She is extremely entertaining!

                                 This was fun to watch too- didn't get his name- I LOVE GLASS!

My friend Lisa's pocketbook- I am totally going to put this in a painting!

The next day I worked with a brownie troop at the Art Complex Museum-

the girls were looking up at the whimsical bird sculptures by Brad Story- and drew on their bellies.

You can't see the sculptures in this picture but look at the shadows on the walls!

Then they painted them. I love their results and so did they- they said it helped them "let go"
Seriously?
Do 9 year olds need help "letting go"?
