tulips in the garden

I did this painting last fall- before I planted these bulbs. I am now so glad I planted them!
Today I painted the flowers in the garden- I was a little loose and scattered- not my usual first thing in the morning focused work- so it got a little away from me...

It was fun to let the colors go a little crazy.
I've been commissioned to do a tee-shirt design for Worlds End- and I walked to the spot that they wanted the image from. It was a glorious day and I loved being out there. Lots of people enjoying the sunshine.

When I was a little girl I literally thought that this was the end of the world. Maybe it is!

I love tulips. Every year they have this tulip festival in Ottawa, Canada, (where I'm from). It's spectacular. Your painting is terrific!!

I also have tulipmania - and brought back about 100 from Holland - somehow here they grow up short and tiny! Your paintings, though.... are year round tulip pleasure.

And World's End IS the end of the world - when you go out to the tip it's surrounded by water, so....

Watch out for ticks and poison ivy there, though - even in the GRASS there's PI.

I love the loose design and the slightly wild colors. It feels like a spring dance!
