Sweetness

Tonight I went to the drop in  figure painting at the North River Arts Society- It was a lot of fun to paint this beautiful young girl- she is the granddaughter of a friend and fellow painter, Jeanne MacFarland. Not my genre maybe- but I loved painting her.
She owns this hoop dress and participates in historical reenactments of the Civil War.
I truly pushed myself to be there- it was a long day- but so worth going!

Sally, this is beautiful on so many levels. The coloration, layout, expression, and sensitivity to name a few. Jeanne must love it.

I. Love. This. It's a beautiful painting of her, and a beautiful expression of your talent. In addition to the serene beauty of the model, I like the gradation of the background. Oil? Acrylic?

Nice job for a quickie painting! Her skirt reminds me of what I want to do on my wedding gown with the roses...

It's good to work outside of your genre sometimes. Bryson

wow thanks you guys!
Its oil Kelley- on a rough recycled panel from art camp- acrylic under, then a goat of white gesso- so when I rubbed the background color in it was a cool texture...
